Corporate & Social Responsibility
As specifiers installers and maintainers of security technology the concepts of corporate and social responsibility resonate strongly with Vigil Security people. It is company policy to maintain awareness that their systems support the economy in protecting investment and profitability, protect the community with the improved crime prevention from the deterrent effects of their installations and assist law enforcement in the identification, prosecution and conviction of offenders.
Retail losses exert pressure on prices so loss prevention and consumer benefit were the objectives of a joint shrinkage reduction programme developed and sponsored by Vigil Security for Ralph Lauren. This followed the installation in 20 of their stores across the UK of retail customised IP CCTV cameras delivering improved levels of incident surveillance and analysis indicating counter measures. This supplied Ralph Lauren with league table of loss reductions with the store showing the best awarded a trophy donated by Vigil.
Vigil Security has involvement in work experience placements and is developing plans to create apprenticeship opportunities. In the community, Vigil has worked with Hampshire Constabulary, social care agencies and charities on a number of projects supporting vulnerable young people. These activities reflect the personal commitment of Commercial Director Andy Binnersley who has for many years been a volunteer youth worker in the Basingstoke area.
