Intruder Alarms, traditionally referred to as “Burglar” Alarms, are the most widely installed security device found in commercial premises and increasingly in residential properties. Wired systems are still the most common but recent years have seen the rapid development of wire free installations which are now graded to meet insurance, Security Systems & Alarms Inspection Board (SSAIB), Association of Chief Police Officers (ACPO) requirements and British Standards.
In both systems alarm activation will alert a contracted Remote Central Station who will contact designated keyholders and alarm installers to reset the alarm. Wire free systems offer additional options such as internet connection with pre-recorded voice messages, or pre-programmed texts sent to designated smartphone numbers. Systems can also be activated or shut down by smartphone.
As an SSAIB approved installer Vigil Security is subject to twice yearly inspections of technical and administrative competence, Other qualifying membership requirements are comprehensive insurance cover and 24 hour breakdown recovery call-out An SSAIB endorsed Certificate of Conformity will be issued at new system handover.
